The deck unit type installation is a complete marine propulsion unit that combines the rudder propeller and diesel engine assembly in series. It includes diesel engines and rudder propellers, with advantages such as reliable operation and compact structure. The diesel engine transmits power to the rudder propellers through elastic couplings, clutches, and universal joints. The base is equipped with components such as hydraulic system, electronic control box, and daily fuel. Due to the deck unit type rudder propeller being integrated, all components and systems inside the unit are connected, installed, and debugged before loading onto the ship. After the common engine base is fixed in place on the ship, only a small amount of pipelines and cables need to be connected, and the ship has navigation and maneuvering capabilities. The entire rudder propeller is directly installed on the deck aircraft, and the rudder propeller is installed at the tail end of the rack.

The rudder propeller can be raised or lowered in the vertical direction using mechanical or hydraulic adjustment devices. By adjusting the draft of the propeller, the ship can achieve maximum thrust when the draft changes.

When the rudder blade needs maintenance, the rudder blade can be lifted out of the water surface using mechanical or hydraulic devices.
